However the problem was not solved. I had a look into the fmtutil log and found jadetex making problems. Hence I decided to purge. After that texlive-base-bin and texlive-base could be installed with --force-confmiss and all other TeX-Live packages configured fine. JadeTeX however still was not installable, hence the bug. I did now an dpkg -i --force-confmiss /var/cache/apt/archives/texlive-latex-base_2007-7_all.deb /var/cache/apt/archives/texlive-latex-extra_2007-3_all.deb /var/cache/apt/archives/texlive-pictures_2007-7_all.deb The color.cfg file does exist now and jadetex installs fine. The re-created files: /etc/texmf/tex/latex/config/color.cfg /etc/texmf/tex/latex/config/graphics.cfg /etc/texmf/tex/latex/config/hyperref.cfg Sorry for filing the bug against the wrong package! And yes: I purged tetex-base,bin,extra recently. H. -- sigmentation fault
