The guy who came up with the 1-6 fix reports that he discovered that fix
running the tarball version of thunderbird 2.0 a few weeks ago, so it
looks like this is not a Debian packaging issue, but was in the original
thunderbird package from the beginning. That's when he discovered the
fix, copying the directory to elsewhere, then copying the contents back
into the newly created 2.0 directory, which should theoretically make no
difference at all, since it's the same directory name, with the same
contents, but it does make a difference, I had it happen to me today too
with the new icedove, and our users reported this issue as well:
http://sidux.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=30224#30224
Hope it can get resolved even if it's not a Debian Icedove issue, since
the fix is hardly intuitive or user friendly.
