This problem was fixed 3 days ago on our svn repository. See: http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-fonts/packages/ttf-freefont/trunk/debian/scripts/convertfonts.sh?op=log&rev=0&sc=0&isdir=0 The new FontForge program supports the native and python scripting and defaults to python scripting. FontForge determines what scripting language to use based on: 1) Environment variable FONTFORGE_LANGUAGE which may be either "py" or "ff" 2) Command line argument -lang=ff or -lang=py 3) Extension of the script file: .pe and .ff => old style (native scripting).
