Just for your information. Bastian Blank has implemented support for --hash-style=gnu in readelf-mklibs [1] and will upload a new version of mklibs that solves the build problem for the installer.
This change was apparently already pending for some time. Note that according to Bastian this readelf-mklibs is not a real readelf. Given the other issues resulting from the change, reverting it still seems like a good option for now. Cheers, FJP [1] https://lophos.multibuild.org/svn/mklibs
