Package: alsa-base Version: 1.0.13-5 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
I have a new ASUS A7M, with AMD Sempron and NVidia chipset. Audio is nVidia Corporation MCP51 High Definition Audio (rev a2) that has seen by my Debian 4.0 Etch as snd-hda-intel but it doesn't work at all. No audio from the speackers and no audio with headphones. I have also tried snd-intel-8x0, nothing. Kernel 2.6.21.1 with alsa modules from kernel and with alsa modules from package alsa-driver-1.0.14rc3.tar.bz2. I have followed https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=2587 using all the patch available but nothing. No sound.I have also opened a alsa bug https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=3000 last April 5 but I haven't an answer from alsa people. Let me know if you need more information.
