Hi Silke,

In looking into the status of xerces in sarge, I found that gdal is still
built against libxerces21c102, even though there have been 5 new major
upstream versions of xerces released (and packaged for Debian!) since
xerces21. Please rebuild gdal against a newer version of xerces for sarge,
so that we can drop these old versions of xerces before release.

I'm currently waiting to find out from the xerces maintainers which version
is most appropriate for you to update to. I've done a test build against
xerces26, and everything seems to work fine, but they may prefer to stick
with xerces25 instead.

Thanks,
