Package: gtkhtml

Severity: serious

There was an error while trying to autobuild your package:

The version of libtool used to build this source package is too old to
correctly support shared libraries for the Debian mips and mipsel
architectures. Debian versions 1.5-2 and 1.4.2-7 and higher correctly
support them. You need to update all of the libtool related files by
running the following on your source tree:

        autoreconf --force

You may need to use the --install option as well. You can also try the
individual commands needed yourself:

        libtoolize --force --copy
        aclocal
        autoheader
        automake -a
        autoconf

autoheader may not be needed, and you may need to use versioned binaries
(autoconf2.13, automake-1.{4,6,7}, aclocal-1.{4,6,7}, etc)

The correct 'configure' script will have output that looks like this:
linux*)
  lt_cv_deplibs_check_method=pass_all
  ;;

Older versions of libtool used a file_magic check for the pattern
file_magic ELF [0-9][0-9]*-bit [LM]SB (shared object|dynamic lib )

The output of file(1) on a shared library on MIPS does not match this
regular expression, however. Earlier versions of file had been
modified to match this regular expression, but the latest version uses
the same output as upstream once again. The file check often causes
problems, and results on a build-dep on file that you might not
otherwise be aware of. The new method doesn't need file(1) at all,
and is far less fragile, so it is best to upgrade the configure script
with proper mips support.

Changes:
 gtkhtml (1.1.10-1) unstable; urgency=high
 .
   * New maintainer. Old maintainer was non-responsive to maintenance
     emails for several months, and I'm taking over the package after
     consulting with QA. The version upgrade is needed to fix a severity
     "important" bug in gnucash (which I maintain) and gnucash is just about
     the only package still using this one.
 .
   * New upstream release.  (Closes: #266802, #292171)
   * debian/control.in: [EMAIL PROTECTED]@ -> [EMAIL PROTECTED]@.
   * debian/rules: Restore automated rules to detect CURRENT.
   New variable NUMBER, with "1.1" in it; change most uses of CURRENT to
   NUMBER.
 .
   * src/htmlcluealigned.h: Don't declare html_cluealigned_class in this
     file.  (Closes: #297896)
 .
   * debian/rules (binary-arch): Use -a on debhelper commands.  (Closes:
     #194034).
 .
   * Re-autotool the package to get the mipsel fix. (Closes: 268995).
   * macros/gnome-gettext.m4: AM_LC_MESSAGES -> gt_LC_MESSAGES.
   * configure.in: AM_PROG_XML_I18N_TOOLS -> AC_PROG_INTLTOOL.
   * xml-i18n-extract.in, xml-i18n-merge.in, xml-i18n-update.in: Removed files.
   * Makefile.am (EXTRA_DIST): xml-i18n-extract.in -> intltool-extract.in.
     xml-i18n-update.in -> intltool-update.in.
     xml-i18n-merge.in -> intltool-merge.in.
   * components/ebrowser/Makefile.am: Drop @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
   * components/html-editor/Makefile.am: Likewise.
 .
   * debian/rules: Reenable use of gconf.
 .
   * debian/libgtkhtml-dev.files: Remove usr/lib/gtkhtmlConf.sh.
     Add usr/lib/pkgconfig/*.
 .
   * debian/rules (install): Rename usr/share/gtkhtml-1.1 to
     usr/share/gtkhtml.
 .
   * debian/gtkhtml.files: Remove etc/CORBA/servers.
