Subject: Bug#302392: libsem-dev conflicts with libc6-dev

Package: libsem-dev
Version: 0.0.1-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Unpacking libsem-dev (from .../libsem-dev_0.0.1-2_i386.deb) ... dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libsem-dev_0.0.1-2_i386.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite `/usr/include/semaphore.h', which is also in package libc6-dev

-- System Information:
Debian Release: 3.1
 APT prefers unstable
 APT policy: (500, 'unstable')
Architecture: i386 (i686)
Kernel: Linux 2.6.11
Locale: LANG=en_CA, LC_CTYPE=en_CA (charmap=ISO-8859-1)

Jody,

Thank you for the bug report but this has been reported before. The libsem-dev package is a GNU/Hurd only package, so the -2 version should have been removed from the archive. I am working on getting that removed and will close this bug when I am sure that happens.

Thanks again,

Barry deFreese (aka bddebian)
