Hallo Justin,

thank you for your answer.

On my system (testing) this doesn't work:
# apt-get --simulate install php4-gd2/stable
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Selected version 3:4.1.2-2 (Debian:3.0r4/stable) for php4-gd2
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  php4-gd2: Depends: zendapi-20010901
E: Broken packages

And going back to php4-*, version 4.1.2, in stable is impossible,
because the application needs PHP >= 4.3.x.
