MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain;charset=us-ascii;format=flowed User-Agent: Turnpike/6.04-U (<V2vBUUz9QlBvWDfS$J3pBR+6iv>) Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-7.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,DATING,HAS_PACKAGE autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: Package: cron Status: file corrupt on server Priority: critical Section: base Installed-Size: won't install Maintainer: Don't know Version: 3.0pl1-72_alpha Description: I've tried to install Alpha Woody several times from the US, UK and German mirrors. Each time it has failed during the installation of the base system while validating files, claiming that http://http.us.debian.org:80/debian/pool/main/c/cron/cron3.0pl1-72_alpha. deb or depending on server, ftp://ftp.uk.debian.org:21/debian/pool/main/c/cron/cron3.0pl1-72_alpha. deb etc is corrupt. We have tried deleting the downloaded file under /target... in case it was just local corruption, but that hasn't fixed it, and we get the same problem with all of the above servers, so it looks to me as if it might be a problem with the files on the Debian servers. Is this conclusion correct ? If so, when will it be fixed, and is there a work around ? If I'm wrong to suspect the servers, where else should I look for problems ? John, if you're still having this problem, you need to submit a bug report with complete info against the pseudo package 'ftp.debian.org'.
