Yep, but notice that the linuxppc devels have mostly abandoned the 2.4 branch,
so going for 2.6 kernels is really the way to go, especially for your
hardware. I still need to do a couple security fix builds for the 2.4.27
kernels too.

Bah, i think you are over cautious. Especially if you need only a small subset
of packages, it should be no major problem. I would definitively prefer sarge
with a 2.6.8 kernel at this date over a woody with a 2.4.18 or 2.4.27 kernel,
especially if you are going to have the machine running on the network. See
above for the reason of it.
