Guess what?... Still no go. Looking at the bug log, it's probably my
fault for the typo, mind you, that you blindly cut-and-pasted. :)
I typed "$(php:Depends)", when I meant "{php:Depends}".
As a pointer, when I'm making changes that I know will affect auto-filled
control fields, I tend to 'cat debian/package/DEBIAN/control' after the
build and make sure everything looks the way I expect it to.
