Package: stars
Version: 0.12+0-1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 2.2.1

Invoking a vanilla install of stars yields:

$ stars
Cannot open extension descriptor file : /usr/share/stars/data/classes.dat
loadallcatalogs : file not found : /usr/share/stars/data/catalogs.dat

The /usr/share/doc/stars/README.Debian tells:

        Notes regarding this package
        ----------------------------

This package *no longer* contain data. This is only *temporary*
modification.

The user must install the data files themselves. It was removed due to
licensing issues.

Star catalogues that you may use:

        ESA Hipparcos/Tycho Catalogues
        Hubble Guide Star Catalogue
        SAO
        Gliese
        Yale

You can also get the upsteam source of stars and install the authors
data too
        http://www.aoc.nrao.edu/~wbrisken/src/

Future Debian-Releases of stars will contain the ability to use more
than one
        star catalogue.

        -- Brian R. Furry

For a package in main this violates section 2.2.1 of the Debian Policy
Manual: The package must not require a package outside of main for compilation
or execution. That the data isn't even packaged does not help either.

Move it to contrib or remove the package.
