severity 289310 important
thanks

        Hi,

I've searched in my in and out mails, and couldn't find a trace of the
reply I could swear I have typed on this problem, but I know of the
problem, and I was ready to fix it with next upload. I noticed the bug
after the 1.3.19 upload since I was in a hurry to get the next upstream
in sarge and the severity was only minor.

I did not understand this was preventing removal, and I just tried a
 removal with aptitude:

bee# aptitude
(Reading database ... 161300 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing galeon-common ...
rm: cannot remove `/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults/apps/galeon': No such file or
directory
dpkg: error processing galeon-common (--purge):
subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: galeon: dependency problems, but removing anyway as you request:
 galeon-common depends on galeon (= 1.3.19-1).
Removing galeon ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
 galeon-common
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Ack! Something bad happened while installing packages. Trying to recover:
Press return to continue.

(Reading database ... 161285 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing galeon-common ...
Purging configuration files for galeon-common ...
Press return to continue.

which indeed caused some errors but finally succeeded.

If you don't mind I'll prepare -2 ASAP, for example tonight or
tomorrow, and we will keep this bug important as it is a problematic
behavior, but that one can live with.

   Regards,
