Subject: migrate devfs to udev: no terminal, no cdrom, no sound
Package: udev
Version: 0.050-5
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

*** Please type your report below this line ***
i did "wajig purge devfs" and then "wajig install -t unstable udev". after that

this terminal")
* no cdrom (which should be something lide hdc)
* no sound

what might cause that?

Looks like your kernel lacks support for /dev/pts.
Old-style BSD PTYs do not support udev.

This is explained in README.Debian.

> * no sound
And this too. Also, the default device names changed since you
deinstalled devfsd before installing udev.

Not RTFM when installing important core packages.
