Hi BenoƮt,

I want you to inform about dblatex Debian bug reports #492350 [1],
#492365 [2] and #492366 [3]. They seem to be really good examples why
the planned XeTeX fontspec encoder is needed.

Some short explanations to Martin:

To handle the problem of documents with non-western languages or even of
multilanguage documents, a configuration possibility is planned for
dblatex which enables it to define which fonts to use for specific
Unicode character ranges. Thus it would be possible to adapt dblatex to
the fonts shipped with Debian. E.g. no more hardcoded cyberbit font,
but whatever its free Debian equivalent is. However it will be a
tedious task to determine which fonts to use for all those languages
that are needed by dblatex users, a task where I appreciate any help I
can get ;-) In the end dblatex's language support should have been
improved considerably by this development (and your bug reports should
have been solved).
