Package: echoping
Version: 6.0.2-4
Severity: normal

It seems like there's no way to send a normal request of the form:

GET / HTTP/1.1
Host: www.example.com

using echoping.

Many sites will give out errors or redirects if you use the two forms
which I have been able to get from echoping, namely

GET http://www.example.com/ HTTP/1.1
Host: www.example.com

and:

GET / HTTP/1.1
Host: www.example.com:80

While adding the port is allowed according to the RFCs, forcing it to
always be added means monitoring some sites is hard.
