I can confirm this. "getent hosts cellarbackup" returns "10.7.2.10 cellarbackup.lan" but also does 12:46:27.301176 IP lindi1.lan.47076 > G.ROOT-SERVERS.NET.domain: 63381 [1au] AAAA? cellarbackup.
