I'm sorry but Carsten is right. I routinely add the snippet below precisely because packages installed from experimental are not upgraded from experimental without it. Package: * Pin: release experimental Pin-Priority: 150 And it's also the reason why APT now supports a "ButAutomaticUpgrades: yes" field to complement the "NotAutomatic: yes" field. The result is to have a priority of 100 instead of 1 (backports.debian.org uses it).
