Package: syslinux Version: 4.05+dfsg-2 Severity: normal
pxechain.com isn't bundled with syslinux-common due to this section in debian/rules: override_dh_auto_install: (...) rm -f debian/tmp/usr/share/syslinux/*.com # ms-dos executables Although these files are MS-DOS executables, PXELINUX can run them too - and in this case the pxechain.com is extremely useful for 'chaining' between pxelinux instances. Arguably all the COMBOOT executables are worth bundling - e.g. memdump, ver - as they can be run from the syslinux command line to provide useful information. It's probably harder to justify including the various dosutil/ packages (which are unbundled by the next line in debian/rules), but they might still be useful to someone building a SYSLINUX or PXELINUX server. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (800, 'stable'), (99, 'unstable'), (99, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.10-ucc.1 (SMP w/16 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
