Dear Manuel! First of all, please be notified that if you only mail to bugnumber@bugs the mail will only appear in the BTS and will *not* be received by the submitter of the bug. It was rather a lucky incident that I noticed that you mailed to the bugreport than anything else ...
Please use the bugnumber-submitter@bugs email address instead when you want to notify the submitter of the bug, too. * Manuel A. I totally welcome those, especially because when working on wesnoth we found some SDL related bugs here and there and had to work around them in the meantime. > I think that by now everything related with OSS in Linux has changed > considerably and it's deprecated in general (though AFAIK FreeBSD > kernels use it, and there are no bug reports related). Unfortunately my test environment for that is gone for a very long time now (haven't checked when I initially filed the bugreport, but by the bug number it must have been several years ago?). As you said, a lot have evolved in the meantime, and we have pulseaudio as default by now, and I also switched to alsa long ago before that. So I can't tell now anymore whether the issue is still outstanding - but I guess you can safely close it by now, at least from my point of view.
