Package: dkms Version: 2.2.0.3-1 Severity: wishlist
Installing dkms packages takes quite some time. It would be nice if dkms could use all cores on multicore systems to build the kernel modules. I am sure that for some modules this would speed up things quite a bit. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers stable APT policy: (900, 'stable'), (500, 'testing'), (410, 'unstable'), (200, 'experimental'), (111, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages dkms depends on: ii build-essential 11.5 Informational list of build-essent ii coreutils 8.13-3 GNU core utilities ii dpkg-dev 1.16.1.2 Debian package development tools ii gcc 4:4.6.2-4 GNU C compiler ii make 3.81-8.1 An utility for Directing compilati ii module-init-tools 3.12-2 tools for managing Linux kernel mo ii patch 2.6-2 Apply a diff file to an original Versions of packages dkms recommends: ii fakeroot 1.14.4-1 Gives a fake root environment ii linux-headers-3.1.0- 3.1.8-2 Header files for Linux 3.1.0-1-amd ii linux-headers-3.2.0- 3.2.6-1 Header files for Linux 3.2.0-1-amd ii linux-headers-amd64 3.2+43 Header files for Linux amd64 confi ii linux-image-3.1.0-1- 3.1.8-2 Linux 3.1 for 64-bit PCs ii linux-image-3.2.0-1- 3.2.6-1 Linux 3.2 for 64-bit PCs ii menu 2.1.44 generates programs menu for all me ii sudo 1.7.4p4-2.squeeze.2 Provide limited super user privile dkms suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
