This is an intermittent problem, but the following have been observed: Sometimes, firefox will pop up a window saying that a certain URL (that exists) does not exist, even though http proxy is set to manual and a proxy is set up (i.e., it should never pop up a window for 404 errors even if the page really does not exist).
