the same, but sometimes only cs8 vs. cs7 difference is
noticed... :-/

Thanks for your patience, anyway. Also, I strongly
suspect that the bug is in _getty_ package, because
IIRC "login:" prompt is printed/processed by getty, and
"passwd:" one is provided by login later.

And I do not recall any messing with stty there...
