Package: msva-perl
Version: 0.8-2
Severity: important

With a default Debian hosts file "getent hosts localhost" returns "::1
localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback", which msva-perl binds
to. However neither the daemon or the msva-query-agent tool support
IPv6, so by default nothing works. Also the address to bind to isn't
configurable, so the only way to fix this is to change global system
configuration, which is a bit nasty.

Since IPv6 support is again/still a release goal adding support for it
would of course be a nice fix, but considering that msva will only
ever serve clients on localhost there is no real reason to go
there.. Having the address to bind to configurable and/or defaulting
to 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost are probably the realistic choices.
