That's hard without more input. On my systems privoxy runs without
problems and fast. So we have to find out what's different with your
system and what causes the delay.
Does everything work fast without a proxy?
Maybe you have some kind of DNS or IPv6 Problem?
Could you switch on logging (at least "debug 1") and check, whether
there are unusual requests that may delay the wanted requests?
Maybe you also could do some sniffing with wireshark or the like to
find out, what the source of the delay is.
Without much more input form your side I cannot do anything against
this problem.
