Package: linux-sound-base Version: 1.0.23+dfsg-4 Severity: normal My 'SB Live ! 24 Bit' -Soundcard was put into the Powermac G4 I use as a testing-machine and it does not work. It was loaded as the primary soundcard 'device 0,0' by default, alsamixer showed that all channels were unmuted and at medium volume, but it was not able to produce any sound. First I blacklisted snd-powermac in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base-blacklist.conf, which had no effect at all, then replaced snd-powermac in /etc/modules with snd-ca0106, which prevented the onboard sound driver from being loaded at boot time, but did not change the situation. To diagnose the problem more closely, I installed the alsa-source package and ran the alsa-info.sh script, but it did not produce much output. It would be very nice if someone was able to fix this issue anyway. As you can see in the attached files I am not running the most recent 3.2.6-kernel yet, but but still a custom built one with a version number of 3.2.4., but this probably does not matter much, because this is not a new problem, just a new report.
