Package: varnish Version: 3.0.2-1 Severity: normal The init script shipped with varnish leaves the pid file behind. That's not problematic in itself but the return value per lsb is 1 if a service is not running but a pid file is still found. If you clean up the pid file the script will exit with a more explicit return value 3.
This also applies to the version in stable. Just in case someone would consider to fix #637110 in squeeze this could be another candidate. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
