Package: alsa-utils Version: 1.0.25-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, *** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation? Upgrade to version 1.0.25-1 * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I attempted to play sound through HDMI. All sound goes through HDMI, except for Flash Video sound. * What was the outcome of this action? I noted that Flash video sound continued to play through my laptop speakers, even though ALL other sound (system sounds, movie sounds etc.) played correctly through HDMI. Further, upon playing Flash video, the "Sound Settings" dialog which serves as the front end for Pulse Audio, showed that no applications were currently playing sound. Adjusting system volume has no effect on flash video volume. Selecting which "hardware" to play sound through also has no effect with Flash video. Even selecting "no hardware" which disables all system sound, has no effect, as flash continues to play. It is as if flash bypasses Pulse Audio completely since this update to alsa- utils. This behavior was not present prior to the update. * What outcome did you expect instead? Flash video should be controlled by pulse audio, as it was prior to the update. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages alsa-utils depends on: ii libasound2 1.0.25-2 ii libc6 2.13-26 ii libncursesw5 5.9-4 ii libsamplerate0 0.1.8-2 ii libtinfo5 5.9-4 ii linux-sound-base 1.0.23+dfsg-4 ii lsb-base 3.2-28.1 ii module-init-tools 3.16-1 ii whiptail 0.52.14-8 Versions of packages alsa-utils recommends: ii alsa-base 1.0.23+dfsg-4 ii pciutils 1:3.1.8-2 alsa-utils suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
