Thanks for your  bug report. Indeed, the README is  not clear about that
so I have just pushed a commit to clarify this point[0].

Anyhow, you  can currently drop  unagi.conf in either  $HOME/.config/ or
/etc/xdg/ (path of the Debian  package configuration file). Feel free to
close this bug if  you get it working (it's working for  me at least and
confirmed by strace). Thanks.
