That is my preference for now unless you think we will be needing to rebuild the build system in the near future. We've got a responsive upstream (hello Thomas) so if there is something that needs to be done for that part it is likely it would be changed upstream.
We probably only be in that situation if the change is something upstream doesn't want or need or the timing is bad.
