Oops, more news. I got that my self-built abiword still links with debian-provided /usr/lib/powerpc-linux-gnu/libabiword-2.9.so. Removing this file allowed /usr/lib/libabiword-2.9.so to be linked instead, and it works. With my libabiword-2.9.so, it doesn't segfault.
