I am running gnome-shell 3.2.2.1 (64 bit) with mutter 3.2.2.1 and can confirm this.
Mem use is about 60 MB after login and then steadily builds up (I've seen 280 MB). After "Alt-F2 -> r" it's back to normal (60 MB).
