Hi Jakob, I'm not interested in adding such an option. IMO, the technical detail of saving a few CPU cycles does not justify adding another item to the app menu.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the Phonon backend would decode the video anyway. So the CPU savings would be minimal (or null) anyway.
