when in Preferences -> General -> Sound events and want to play newmessage.wav I can't hear any sound, likewise in Ekiga Chat window when I get a new message. When I find this newmessage.wav file in /usr/share/sounds/ekiga I can play it well with aplay. Is this a bug?
