For FEDORA, sure yes. Debian is transitioning from old special case lib* to this new /usr/lib/<triplet>/ so we can have more than i386-linux-gnu and x86_64-linux-gnu but also all sorts of things such as ARM or kFreeBSD. > I think it's often happened to change the file paths using configure > options in many distributions.
