Package: git Version: 1:1.7.8.3-1 Severity: normal Hello all,
When deleting a ref, the whole reflog for this ref is also deleted, disallowing users to track for a branch deletion/re-creation. (Very useful on a shared repository, for example) Instead, I suggest that reflogs are never removed, but simply updated with a "**deleted**" message. Alongside, git reflog should get a "prune" subcommand which will allow the user to remove stale logs after ref deletions.
