Hello, Patrick
gearmand FTBFS on some architectures, because of some TCP/IP tests.
On Debian buildds you *may* have networking or not, it is an error to
rely on it.
I assume networking is non-functional on the buildds.
If assuming that local tcp sockets work is an error, it would be great
if you could point me to where this is documented. I could then disable
local client-server build tests without feeling dirty afterwards. :)
So what has to be done?:
- Please disable all networking tests
I've disabled build tests on some architectures where opening sockets
have failed in a previous release. You can follow the progress after
each upload on https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=gearmand
Thanks for reporting the bug. :)
You find this information here:
http://wiki.debian.org/buildd
"no network -- most buildds will have no network access available
(potentially not even the loopback). Your package build+test process
must not attempt to use the network or assume that any network interface
is available. "
