Package: python2.3 Version: 2.3.5-6 Severity: normal The webbrowser module shipped with python is used to open a browser to display some file, and as such it is used by many applications to display HTML files, help, etc. The module picks the first browser it finds from a list. So far so good, but it does not respect any of the local configurations that a Debian system offers, namely
- environment variable BROWSER - sensible-browser command - x-www-browser alternative - www-browser-alternative Also, the module looks for a browser named "kfm"; I believe this is called "konqueror" these days. I think it would be easy to patch this module to respect the local configuration. (python2.4 is also affected.) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
