Package: apt-file
Version: 2.5.0
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

we now have dpkg with multiarch support in experimental, and while
trying to report #658792 and #658793 from outside my test chroot, I
noticed apt-file only fetches files for the host architecture.

I'd suggest using “dpkg --assert-multi-arch” to check whether dpkg has
multiarch support, and using “dpkg --print-foreign-architectures” to
get the extra architectures to fetch files for.

As noted in the changelog[1], “command line interfaces *will* change”,
so you may want to stage any changes in experimental for now.

Thanks for considering.

Mraw,
KiBi.
