Ok, I guess that's it ... but I guess too that the line after gcc is passed "as is" so inverting the options is not a good idea. And still guessing and perhaps wrong, the default behavior of libtool was linking with gcc so a libtool -static was working like a charm, when new version need implicit specification of "--mode=link gcc" ...
