It's been a long time since I looked at that issue. Hopefully, repositioning the snippet will give you the same > outcome as I get. nox11 was added, because the pam_ck_connector module is activated in /etc/pam.d/common-session. That means, it is also loaded when you login via GDM, which directly talks to ConsoleKit. The effect is, that you'd have two CK sessions registered and you don't really want that. The CK/PK documentation is definitely not great, but man pam_ck_connector has a few words about that.
