Package: linux-image-2.6.12-1-686-smp Version: 2.6.12-6 Severity: normal With this linux-image, DMA does not work with my cdrom burners. If I try to enable it, I get the following message: morpheus:~# hdparm -d1 /dev/hdb
/dev/hdb: setting using_dma to 1 (on) HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted using_dma = 0 (off) I also have a custom built 2.6.12.2 kernel, with DMA working with both cd-r/rw drives. If anyone is interested in seeing my .config to find out what modules need to be added, I will gladly send it to them. I am not sure myself how to figure out what the missing kernel module/option is. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12.2 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages linux-image-2.6.12-1-686-smp depends on: ii coreutils [fileutils] 5.2.1-2.1 The GNU core utilities ii initrd-tools 0.1.82 tools to create initrd image for p ii module-init-tools 3.2-pre8-1 tools for managing Linux kernel mo linux-image-2.6.12-1-686-smp recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
