Package: postgresql-8.0
Version: 8.0.3-15
Severity: important

For some reason my data directory (/var/lib/postgresql/8.0/main) is gone and
now the package is completely unusable and cannot even be removed:

$ psql -l
Error: Cannot stat /var/lib/postgresql/8.0/main

$ psql --help
Error: Cannot stat /var/lib/postgresql/8.0/main

# /etc/init.d/postgresql-8.0 restart
# echo $?
0

# dpkg --purge postgresql-8.0

dpkg: error processing postgresql-8.0 (--purge):

Somehow it should be possible to get out of this without doing manual surgery.
