Giving a deeper look to [1] it seems that, in order perform unit tests on the -dbg package, we need to Duild-Depends on python-numexpr-dbg. AFAIK python-numexpr do not provides a -dbg package so I'm not sure how to go on. Probably we could disable build-time unit tests for the -dbg package.
