Doesn't look like a general problem. At least I can't reproduce such a behaviour. Is this specific to certain applications (GTK2/GTK3 whatever based, terminals etc). Do you use a input method like SCIM? -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
