Agree, but I picked up a patch from upstream and just uploaded a new debian revision that hopefully it will fix the problem. So if this patch fixes the problem for everybody that's it, otherwise I will do what you suggest. It works for me with vor, and IIRC it fixes Mana for Mageia folks. Please test!
