I have now tested with ttf-indic-fonts_0.5.13 installed to my Debian Testing (Wheezy) desktop.
Of the two types of bugs I raised as issues, I have found the following: 1) the type two - i.e. selection for Serif for some languages dominating all languages, is fully solved. i2) But the first type of bug, i.e. selection for sans-serif is not solved and is continuing based on my testing with the following 3 cases: i. Tamil - if TSCu_Paranar (regular and/or bold) is installed then that is matched to Sans-Serif still and not to Lohit Tamil as 90-ttf-tamil.conf ii. Punjabi - 90-ttf-punjabi.conf prescribes "Saab" for Sans-Serif but the match taking place is to Lohit Punjabi though "Saab" is installed iii. Oriya - 90-ttf-punjabi.conf prescribes "utkal" for Sans-Serif but the match taking place is to Lohit Oriya though "utkal" is installed I haven't tested for other languages yet. But from the above three samples, we can see that the 90-*.conf files including the fixes for this bug, are still not effective for what they are supposed to do for the matching for Sans-Serif! K.
