Package: linux-image-2.6.32-5-686-bigmem Severity: serious [ the system will not boot ]
Symptoms: boot fails almost immediately. Using synaptic, the kernel was upgraded. I ran `lilo' with the usual gang of warnings. I then rebooted, straight into the crash. log: .. .. .. I am presently using my "standby" desktop using the previous version of Debian with a 2.6.28-2-686 kernel. I can run the laptop using a live CD; the laptop disc is still readable and can be accessed from the live CD system. I will try to supply you with any further info that you may require. How can I get back to the previous kernel suite? John Hunter
