First, forgive me Richard, as this is not my bug report but le me share my thoughts. It seems you both overlook two things. First, there won't be libc.mo in en nor in en_US directories. Programs print messages in English and such, don't need to translate to the same language. Also libc.mo is _not_ for cryptmount, but for locales. It would be cryptmount.mo and it is for French and German translations. Removing l10n tag. It can't be loaded or simply does not exist. Please post the following: $ grep cipher /etc/cryptmount/cmtab $ cat /proc/crypto Try to load the mentioned crypto modules mentioned in the cipher, ie: # modprobe aes Then try 'cryptmout --prepare'.
